King Charles has come across an obstacle while trying to rename his charity to reflect his new title of King.

The King is having trouble trying to change the name of his charity from The Prince's Foundation to The King's Foundation, because this name is already taken.

The 74-year-old monarch has requested that the other charity transfers ownership of its name.

The King’s Foundation was formed in 1999 as a well-established Sheffield-based charity.

Its mission is “to educate and assist young people through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their condition of life may be improved.”

Referring to King Charles and The Prince's Foundation, which was established in 1986, a source told the Mail: “They want to turn the charity around.

"It has been made more difficult by the fact that there is already a charity called The King's Foundation so the royal charity has been forced to go to the other one and ask if they can have the name for themselves.

"It is all a bit awkward.

"The charity is emboldened by the fact that it is out of the woods but the name change debacle is a little embarrassing, to say the least.”

By enlisting celebrities, King Charles is now hoping to change the course of his charity for the better.

Victoria and David Beckham have reportedly agreed to participate in King Charles's charity work.

Similarly, after having a private meal with the King, actress Sienna Miller is said to be in talks to become a charity ambassador.

More recently, Mail Force granted the King's charity a donation so that it could give 900 Ukrainian children food vouchers.

The charitable organisation that Charles wishes to adopt the name of, is officially registered as "The King's Foundation".

It has owned the copyright to that name since 2019.

According to a source, the original King's Foundation is "happy to help" the current monarch with his request.
