King Charles's "biggest fear" was dying before his mother and never becoming monarch, according to royal expert Phil Dampier.

The royal expert joined Patrick Christys on GB News to discuss the King's extensive medical record, which he claims resulted in Charles fearing whether he would outlive his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

“I was told about 10 years ago in fact that his biggest fear back then was that he would actually die before his mother and never become King”, he said.

“Fortunately that never happened. But all the same, it’s extremely worrying.

“Everyone is saying how fit he is and he is fit, he eats very well. He’s still very slim. He can fit in military uniforms that he had 50 years ago.

“He’s had quite a history of medical things. When he was eight he had his tonsils out, when he was 12 he had a burst appendix that was actually pushed up a bit.

“He had several accidents while playing polo. He famously fell off his horse and broke his arm in the 1990s.”

Charles, 75, is facing regular treatment for cancer after his shock diagnosis was uncovered during his recent hospital stay for a procedure on an enlarged prostate.

The King, who has postponed all his public duties, returned to London from Sandringham on Monday and has already begun his medical care as an outpatient under the supervision of his specialist team of doctors.
