Prince Andrew is refusing to downgrade to Frogmore cottage, meaning Kate and William could end up in the Sussexes' old home

Princess Kate and Prince William are expected to rule out a royal residence because the future Queen "won't move somewhere redesigned by Meghan".

The couple have been tipped to change residence in the near future after it was revealed that Prince Andrew, who is refusing to move out of his home, could be evicted from Royal Lodge by King Charles, to make room for the Prince and Princess of Wales.

However, in a conversation about the changing of royal residences, GB News Anne Diamond suggested it may not just be Andrew who is stubborn about relocation.

Off the back of a discussion with former royal reporter Michael Cole about whether William and Kate could move into the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes' former UK base, Frogmore Cottage, Diamond said Kate would "not move somewhere redesigned by Meghan Markle".

She said: "It's a huge place. But if it was redone by Meghan and Harry, I can't imagine Kate wanting to move into a place that was designed and redone by Meghan and not William either.

"Because other stories around today are saying that William has made it very clear to his friends that when his time comes for his coronation, he will not be inviting Harry."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Earlier this year, King Charles requested that the Duke of York move out of the Royal Lodge and according to royal sources, it was so that Kate and William could move in with their family.

The Duke of York is refusing to move as he signed a 75-year lease agreement with the Crown Estate for the Royal Lodge in 2003.

King Andrew's private security has been privately funded by King Charles after he lost publicly funded police protection in 2022.

According to the Sun on Sunday, members of the security detail have been told their services will not be needed from November.

A palace insider told the UK newspaper: “Everyone is speculating this means the Duke will have to leave the Royal Lodge, because what other reason could there be to take his security away?”

Sources added: “It isn’t a secret that the King wants him out.”

It could make for an awkward holiday and Prince Andrew is joining the rest of the royals for a getaway in Balmoral.

A source told the Express: "Andrew has hardly left Royal Lodge since Christmas so he's very much looking forward to getting away with the rest of the family at Balmoral.

"He's turned into a bit of a recluse, so the girls (Beatrice and Eugenie) are hoping that some nice family time with the children will help cheer him up a bit and bring him out of his shell."

He will be joined by ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, 64, their children Princess Beatrice, 36, and Princess Eugenie, 34, and grandchildren.

It comes with the disgraced prince facing a second TV humiliation when a TV programme based on his infamous interview with Emily Maitlis airs.
