Gary Goldsmith was 'not briefed' on Kate by the Royal Family before his Big Brother appearance, according to a former royal butler.
Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith has been outspoken about his niece and other members of the Royal Family during his first week on CBB.
Former royal butler, Grant Harrold, spoke out about the logistics of a royal's relative appearing on reality TV.
He explained that Goldsmith was not likely to have been briefed about Kate before appearing on the show.

Harrold said: “It’s unlikely, if he was closer to Kate maybe, but I’m sure he would be having none if it.”
Before going on the show, Carole Middleton’s brother was asked if he had Kate’s permission to be on the show.
He replied: "No, I don't need to do that. Me being on the show has not been a topic for debate.
"I love my family, they can trust me that it's all going to be okay.
"My heart's in the right place with the family. I genuinely love them and respect what they do.”
The 58-year-old-businessman also said that he had spoken to his sister, Carole Middleton about Kate and his upcoming appearance on CBB.
He said: “I’ve spoken to Carole just to send my love and we talked about Kate given what’s going on.
“There’s lots going on in the family at the moment. So she’s spinning a lot of plates right now, it’s quite stressful. So the last thing I’m going to do is bring any stress to them.”
Grant Harrold said that Goldsmith was 'not briefed' on Kate before entering CBB
GetytyDuring an interview with Slingo, Harrold was also asked if he thought Kate would be watching the show.
He responded: “The royals watch all sorts of television so it wouldn't surprise me if they flicked onto the channel by accident.
“Wouldn't you tune in if it was a member of your family? I would like to know what's being said.
“The men and women in suits, as we call them, will definitely be watching because they’ll fear his stint could damage the Royal Family.”

Before he went on the show, Goldsmith was also asked if he thought Kate would vote for him while he was on CBB.
He told The Daily Mirror: “Wouldn't that be great? I would love to think that they're watching and being supportive."
When he appeared on the show, Goldsmith joked that Kate would be watching Big Brother “if she is sitting behind a sofa.”
He added: "It'll be a nice one in a nice house somewhere, I can guarantee that!"
