The Princess of Wales was subject to many critiques in Endgame

Princess Kate was expected to wear a "revenge look" at a glitzy event, fans had predicted.

The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday evening.

This was the first time Kate was seen since Omid Scobie's controversial book Endgame was officially released on Tuesday.

The princess stepped out last Friday, on the same day that the French magazine Paris Match serialised some passages from the book before its official release.

Fans on social media predicted that Kate would be dressed to the nines at the event.

One royal watcher posted on X: "Revenge look tomorrow night…?"

Another added: "How I wish she brings Diana’s sapphire choker."

Claire Adler, the director of Claire Adler Luxury PR, exclusively spoke to GB News about the types of things Kate would likely decide to wear.

She said: "There are moments in life that call for a bold, statement look and this might just be one for Kate.

"At times like these, vibrant colours can be a welcome go-to, not unlike the occasion last year when Kate donned an exquisite emerald and diamond choker, which once belonged to Diana, at the Earthshot Prize Awards evening, teaming it with a showstopping body con green dress."

Scobie wrote several things about the princess in his new royal book.

For instance, he claimed that Kate "shudders and giggles" every time she hears Meghan Markle's name.

The author also gave the 41-year-old a cruel nickname by calling her a "part-time royal".

The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall together with the Crown Princess of Sweden and Prince Daniel.

The Royal Variety Performance takes place every year.

The event is in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, which supports members of the entertainment industry with a nationwide grants scheme.
