Princess Kate's replacement ring has become "a staple in her work wardrobe", a jewellery expert has exclusively told GB News.

The Princess of Wales visited HMP Styal in Wilmslow, Cheshire, last week to highlight support for incarcerated mothers and their children.

Kate travelled to the women's prison, which houses around 400 inmates aged 18 and over.

The visit focused on the facility's Mother and Baby Unit, a dedicated area where new and expectant mothers can live alongside their babies whilst serving their sentences.

For her visit, the Princess of Wales chose a recycled tartan Blazé Milano coat, which she layered over a burgundy turtleneck jumper and matching skirt.

The ensemble was previously worn during her January visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.

Her professional appearance was completed with £995 pearl cluster stud earrings from Katherine James that have since sold out, as well as her sapphire and diamond eternity ring, which the Princess often wears to replace her famous sapphire engagement ring.

Jewellery expert Tobias Kormind, managing director of 77 Diamonds, told GB News: "For her latest appearance, Kate opted for a professional yet minimalist look.

"By choosing an understated but sophisticated ensemble, the Princess of Wales allowed the focus to be on her work and the causes she champions."

The expert added: "She complemented her elegant monochrome outfit with pearl cluster earrings and her signature diamond and sapphire eternity ring, a staple in her work wardrobe."

Kormind noted that her pearl cluster earrings and signature diamond and sapphire eternity ring were carefully chosen to "reinforce her commitment to her role and responsibilities."

During her time at the prison, Kate met with current inmates in the Mother and Baby Unit and visited the on-site nursery for children living with their mothers.

The princess also spoke with staff members and former residents of the facility, which receives support from Action for Children, a UK charity she patronises.

The visit aligns with Kate's work supporting early childhood development, including her Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood, established five years ago.

The visit marks another milestone in Kate's gradual return to royal duties following her cancer diagnosis last year.
