The Princess of Wales joined a star-studded list of attendees courtside at Wimbledon to support British favourite Katie Boulter
Princess Kate’s recent gesture showed she “just wants to fit in and is truly happy”, an expert has claimed.
The Duchess of Cornwall, who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, watched on as tennis players took to the hallowed SW19 turf last week.
Her appearance was made even more significant by her humble choice of attire.
The mother-of-three opted to wear a pistachio-coloured blazer and accessorised with a green and purple bow.
The colours resembled those associated with the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
Green and purple bows are worn by members of the Committee of Management during the Fortnight – the Main Board of the AELTC and representatives of the LTA.
The colours have come to signify members' responsibilities while overseeing the tournament.
Body language expert Darren Stanton has claimed the outfit choice suggests the Princess of Wales “just wants to fit in and is truly happy”.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, Stanton said: “Kate’s outfit was a slight change from her usual outfit choices.
“I think she’s paying some sort of homage to the fact she’s at Wimbledon, as she wore white and green.
“The pistachio jacket is a slight switch for her. We often see Kate in bolder colours when she wants to make a statement.
"However, it’s clear she wants to blend in with the crowd at the event, as she took on a more unstated look.
“Otherwise, she would have worn her usual colours of red or blue, which could have been too striking for the occasion.”
He added: “In terms of body language and facial gestures, Kate displayed genuine joy, which is apparent as her whole face is engaged.
“It’s fairly obvious when somebody is uncomfortable in a situation as their face isn’t engaged.
"In every shot I’ve seen of Kate, she appears to be lapping up the atmosphere and clearly loves being at Wimbledon.”
