The royal walked hand-in-hand with the young girl and was later seen patting the children's heads and letting them sit on her lap in a tender and intimate display.

During the occasion, Diana was pictured stroking the hair of seven-year-old Danielle Stephenson, whose life had been saved by pioneering surgeons.
The late Princess of Wales had been seen re-styling the little girl's hair back into a ponytail before assisting the children to get into place as they were called for a group photograph.
The two royals also have a similar fashion sense, with Kate often using Diana's ensembles as inspiration.
