Thrifty Kate dressed Princess Charlotte in the same cardigan for her birthday portrait, following the photo editing scandal from March.
Princess Charlotte posed in a new photograph to celebrate her ninth birthday today, which was taken by the Princess of Wales.
For the portrait, Charlotte donned a Cyrillus Girls Diamond Cardigan, which she previously wore in the Mother's Day picture taken by Prince William.
The picture caused controversy due to the fact several international picture agencies recalled the image due to fears it had been manipulated.

Princess Kate later took to social media to apologise for "editing" the photograph.
In a statement, she said: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
"I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
"I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."

In today's birthday portrait, Charlotte paired the cardigan with a denim skirt from the same brand.
Charlotte previously wore the garment in a video with her mother and siblings showing them volunteering at Maidenhead Baby Bank.
Princess Kate broke tradition by releasing the new birthday portrait directly on social media.
In previous years, the Princess of Wales releases birthday photos with the media the night before her children's birthdays.

However, following the photo scandal from Mother's Day, it is understood Kensington Palace has rethought its strategy going forward with releasing new pictures.
Kate did the same thing for Prince Louis' birthday last week, where she posted a new image of the six-year-old directly on social media to celebrate the milestone.
The new image showed the royal youngster beaming at his home in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
