Princess Kate and Prince William issue statement one day before anniversary

The Waleses tied the knot on this day back in 2011 at Westminster Abbey - a bank holiday occasion attended by royals and heads of state from around the world.

Ahead of their visit to Scotland on Tuesday, Kate, 43, and William, 42, took to social media with a sweet video showing exciting landmarks and tourist spots from the Isle of Mull.

They captioned the post: "Looking forward to arriving in Mull tomorrow for two days celebrating and connecting with rural island communities in the beautiful Inner Hebrides."

The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, as Kate and William are known in Scotland, will visit the town of Tobermory where they will visit Aros Hall, a local community hub in the heart of the town and will tour an artisan market to meet some of the islands makers and creators.

Aros Hall sits at the heart of Tobermory, and is run by the community for the community, playing host to countless community groups, drama productions, birthday parties, weddings and ceilidhs.

Built in the late 19th century, the building is in constant use by the community, with regular activities including a weekly producers’ market, sewing club, lunch club and toddlers’ group.

It is also home to the island’s only soft play area for children, and the Community Fridge, which last year diverted over 60 tonnes from landfill.

Community Halls such as Aros, are a key gathering place for islanders to come together, socialise and support one another, building vital relationships and connections in a rural environment.

Sources close to Princess Kate and Prince William say they are "as happy as anyone has ever seen them" as they embark on this meaningful trip.

The trip marks Kate's first official away-visit since 2022, when she travelled to Boston alongside Prince William for the Earthshot Prize Awards.

The couple did attend a royal wedding in Jordan back in 2023, but this was done in a private capacity.

The trip to Scotland will last two days before William and Kate return home to Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, seven.

Princess Kate was last seen in a video to celebrate Scouts earlier this month.

Before this, the Princess of Wales attended the London parade on St Patrick's Day.
