Buckingham Palace confirmed on April 11 that the Easter Matins service will take place

The Royal Family is set to reunite for Easter celebrations this weekend, with Princess Kate and Prince William expected to join King Charles and Queen Camilla at St George's Chapel.

Buckingham Palace confirmed on April 11 that the Easter Matins service will take place at Windsor Castle on April 20, stating that the King and Queen would be joined by other members of the Royal Family.

The gathering marks a significant moment for the family, particularly as the Princess of Wales continues her gradual return to public duties following her cancer treatment.

The Easter service traditionally sees extended members of the Royal Family in attendance, including the King's nieces Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall.

In previous years, Prince William and Kate have brought their three children - Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six - to join the celebrations.

The Waleses missed last year's Easter service as it fell shortly after the Princess revealed her cancer diagnosis in an emotional video message.

This year's gathering will be particularly meaningful following the challenging period for the Royal Family.

After undergoing preventative chemotherapy last year, Kate confirmed in January that she is now in remission from the disease.

The royal mother-of-three has been making a gradual return to her duties in recent months.

Her last public appearance was at the St Patrick's Day parade with the Irish Guards on March 17.

William and Kate are currently out of the limelight as they spend time with their children during the Easter school holidays.

The family's appearance at the Easter service will be closely watched by royal observers.

The Prince and his eldest son, Prince George, have enjoyed some father-son bonding during the break, attending Aston Villa's Champions League quarter-finals.

The pair supported the team at both the away leg in Paris on April 9 and at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham on April 15.

Meanwhile, Kensington Palace shared a moving video of Kate connecting with nature during a walk with a Scout group in the Lake District.

The footage, filmed in March, shows the Princess dressed casually in a baker boy hat, bomber jacket and jeans while speaking with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields.

In addition, the King and Queen have recently returned from their four-day state visit to Italy.
