Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce met the royals alongside Taylor Swift last week

Taylor Swift's boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, has heaped praise on Princess Kate and Prince William's upbringing of Prince George and Princess Charlotte after their run-in last week.

Kelce and Swift had posed for an internet-breaking photo op with George, Charlotte and William as the trio spent the Prince of Wales's 42nd birthday at Wembley Stadium to watch the popstar perform on the first London leg of her Eras Tour.

Images posted to social media by Kensington Palace and Taylor Swift had generated quite the buzz, with sporting, musical and real-life royalty all converging in one selfie.

And following the historic coming-together, Kelce has opened up on just what struck him about meeting the young royals.

Travis made the comments on his New Heights podcast alongside his co-host and brother, fellow American football player Jason Kelce.

Jason said: "I've got to say, Prince William was fantastic - but the highlight was Princess Charlotte.

"Prince George was great too, [but] she was so f**king adorable - I cannot express how, uh - I don't know, maybe it's just because I have three girls now - she had a fire to her!

"She was asking questions, it was electric."

Travis replied: "I love it when parents ask their kids to be present and be vocal. Such a great parenting move."

Jason, referencing Princess Charlotte's mother and father, said: "They encourage them to take the lead in a conversation."

Social media users weighed in to heap their praise on the Princes and Princess, with one saying: "A compliment to William's parenting style! I guess George is still a little shy, I imagine... Just like his dad at that age."

Another said: "Princess Charlotte is an emotionally intelligent child - well mannered, adorable and, like they said, she's a superstar!"

Prince Louis - the youngest son of "Kate and Wills", who tied the knot in April 2011 - was not pictured at Wembley last week, but, surprisingly, it was a case of his father copying him that drew the headlines.

Footage of the Prince of Wales jiving to Swift's hit single "Shake It Off" on Friday night was uploaded to TikTok - and has since been viewed tens of millions of times around the world, sparking a frenzy both from the public and from legions of the pop icon's fans.

As Swift sings the lyrics: "And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate; baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake," the heir to the throne can be seen bopping his head, flailing his arms and mouthing the lyrics above the packed venue.

Some social media users have called the clip "the greatest video of Prince William ever", referred to William as "positively unhinged in the best of ways", and claimed he "dances exactly how I expected him to".

While others drew parallels between his moves and those of Hugh Grant in 2003 film Love Actually, and expressed their surprise at his apparent "Swiftie" status.
