Princess Kate and Prince William are working on balancing their responsibilities as parents with their roles as senior working royals, according to a royal source.
The Princess of Wales announced she had completed a course of preventative chemotherapy treatment in September and has since staggered her return to public duties.
Kate said in the video announcement: "This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved."
She made two high-profile appearances alongside her children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine and Prince Louis, six, in December.

A royal insider told the Mail: "I think anyone who saw her at the carol service last month, which was a lovely bookend to what has been a horribly difficult year, was so pleased to see her back and could see for themselves how much better she was.
"It was clear she was also happy to be back doing the things she loves. She is determined to make what she does count."
However, another royal source claimed that despite the Princess of Wales's enjoyment of recent engagements, she is prioritising her family life.

A separate source stressed the impact Kate's cancer diagnosis had on the Princess of Wales.
They said: "Cancer impacts on your perspective, and what you have seen in the decisions they have made over the last year is that family and their children continue to be at the centre of their universe.
They added: "But what they are working on is ways they can balance themselves as parents with being the Prince and Princess of Wales."
