The Princess of Wales will celebrate her 43rd birthday on January 9

Princess Kate is gearing up for Prince William's new role amid a Royal Family transition, according to new claims.

The Princess of Wales will be approaching her 43rd birthday on January 9 with a newfound appreciation for life, royal commentators have claimed.

They have also predicted Kate will soon be back at her husband's side as William, 42, takes on a more prominent role on the world stage.

Prince William's growing worldwide stature means he will be increasingly called upon to represent the monarch and the UK overseas, as seen in December when he stood in for his father at the official reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

The trip was noteworthy as the Prince of Wales sat down for a chat with US President-Elect Donald Trump.

Robert Jobson, a biographer of the Princess of Wales, said: "Last year was an exceptional year, and William stepped up into a solo global-statesman role, but going forward, I think Catherine will spend more time at his side.

"They will both be mindful of their children's education and will make sure they're around if anything crucial happens, but there will be situations where they have to put the country and duty before their children.

"Once Trump becomes President, there will be another state visit, and William and Catherine will play a key role, just as the King did the last time, when the late Queen was alive."

Jobson continued to tell Hello!: "This is all part of William becoming a global figure."

The Princess of Wales completed her chemotherapy last year, and even carried out some public engagements in recent months.

However, sources claim she is continuing to focus on her health and her family.

A friend told the publication: "What we saw last year was her prioritising her recovery, and there hasn't been a step-change in that.

"There’s no press of a reset button as such."

Princess Kate was last seen publicly on Christmas Day alongside William and Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The future Queen attended church on the Sandringham Estate before retreating to Anmer Hall, the Waleses' country home.

It is understood that Kate will celebrate her 43rd birthday at her Windsor home, Adelaide Cottage.
