Princess Kate will be celebrating a special day with her sister Pippa Matthews on Friday.

The Princess of Wales's younger sister has turned 41 today.

Pippa has faced a difficult year watching her older sibling fight cancer and has only been seen in public on several occasions this year.

Princess Kate has only made two public appearances in 2024, the first coming at Trooping the Colour in June.

Pippa joined Kate and Princess Charlotte for her sister's most recent public outing during the men's singles final at Wimbledon in July.

Kate presented the winner and runner-up trophies to Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic on Centre Court and received a standing ovation from the packed crowd.

During the family appearance at Wimbledon, Pippa's strong bond with her niece Charlotte, nine, was also on display.

Pippa has three young children with her husband James Matthews named Arthur, Grace and Rose.

Pippa was Kate's maid of honour during her royal wedding to Prince William in 2011.

The Alexander McQueen dress Pippa wore during the wedding sparked a surge in demand for dresses in a similar style and was dubbed the 'Pippa Middleton effect'.

Despite not wishing her younger sister a happy birthday publicly, Kate and Pippa are very close.

The Princess of Wales used her social media account today to send a message tied to her role as President of the Scouts.
