King Charles has a lot of trust in his 'darling daughter-in-law'

Kate is set to "make her views known" as the Princess of Wales prepares for a senior Royal Family role, a commentator has claimed.

The Princess of Wales has quickly become one of the most popular members of the Royal Family, thanks to the respect she has for her role.

It is understood that King Charles has a lot of trust in his "darling daughter-in-law" and regularly asks for her opinion.

Former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond said: "I think you have to be quite tough to survive – and thrive – in the Royal Family.

"It must be easy to be rather intimidated by the hierarchical system of the Palace."

She continued to tell OK!: "But Catherine has the advantage of knowing that she will one day be the most senior woman in the family, and indeed in the land.

"And so she has a right to make her views known about how the institution of monarchy is going to proceed in the years and decades to come.

"She seems to be a woman with a great deal of common sense, and I suspect that she applies that common sense to the dilemmas and difficulties which arise."

Kate, 42, is raising the future generation of the Royal Family, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Prince George is currently second-in-line to the throne, after his father Prince William.

The mother-of-three has currently paused her public-facing duties while she battles cancer.

In March, Kate announced she was starting a course of preventative chemotherapy, two months after undergoing major abdominal surgery.

She briefly returned to the public eye in June at Trooping the Colour, King Charles's birthday parade.

The following month, the princess attended the men's singles championship at Wimbledon, as part of her role as the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Kate revealed that she was still going through chemotherapy and has "good days and bad days".

She added that she was "not out of the woods yet", amid speculation of when she is going to return to full-time public duties.
