Scobie said: "I think what has been frustrating is seeing so much written about the book that just was not true.
"There were stories about things that I had said about the Princess of Wales, that she only smiles or grins in front of the cameras.
"There is not a word in the book that reflects that whatsoever and neither have I said it in an interview."
Doyle replied: "You did refer to her as a Stepford wife which is kind of offensive."

Scobie said: "It said Stepford wife-like."
He added: It compares her to the Queen in a very favourable way actually."
Doyle hit back: "It is kind of mean, it is kind of a hard thing to hear about yourself, you can understand why there has been a lot of negative reaction."
Omid Scobie wrote that the Kate is a "Stepford-like royal wife" and happy to be a "voiceless symbol" in his book.

Earlier this month, Scobie told the Sunday Times regarding the Princess of Wales: "In the coverage of Kate we infantilize her massively so the bar is always lower.
"The small achievements that we’ve seen from the Princess of Wales wouldn’t perhaps be noticed if it was from another member of the Royal Family, but with Kate it’s like ‘wow!'"
A royal insider claimed that Kate and Prince William appear to have been targeted by Scobie in Endgame.
They told the Mirror: "Nothing is off limits with William and Kate appearing to be this author’s number one target."
