Princess Kate's uncle 'retreats to Ibiza' after fallout with Middleton family

Earlier this year it was reported that Carole and her husband Michael Middleton held crunch talks with Goldsmith ahead of his appearance on the reality TV show.

The Middletons read Goldsmith the "riot act" and were unhappy that he had signed up for the TV show according to a source.

The insider said: "Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael.

"They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother.

"It is infuriating for them. Kate doesn’t need this stress."

His appearance in the Celebrity Big Brother came after Princess Kate had undergone abdominal surgery at the London Clinic.

However, Gary had been evicted from the show two weeks before the Princess of Wales announced she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found in medical tests she undertook.

Following his appearance in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Goldsmith has spent time in Ibiza according to the Express.

A source told the publication: "It was no secret that Gary going into the Big Brother house wasn’t a particularly welcomed move.

"Gary was quite surprised by the reaction to his appearance on the show, especially afterwards.

"He decided that he had to get away and spend a few months in Ibiza."

Gary Goldsmith was the first housemate to be evicted in ITV's rebooted Big Brother series.
