Princess Kate has reflected on her "brutal" year with a heartbreaking admission.
The Princess of Wales held her Christmas Carol Service on Friday evening, which she has hosted annually since 2021.
Arriving at Westminster Abbey, Kate, 42, stunned in a festive red Alexander McQueen coat.
She paired the item with an Emilia Wickstead skirt and Mulberry earrings.

Speaking to Paloma Faith, Princess Kate said movingly that she “didn’t know” what 2024 had in store for her at last year’s carol service.
When Faith expressed sympathy, Kate replied: “I didn’t know this time last year it was going to be the year I’ve just had.”
In January, Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales had been hospitalised for abdominal surgery.
Kate spent 13 nights in The London Clinic, before returning home to Windsor at Adelaide Cottage.

PAThe mother-of-three paused royal duties, with the Palace asserting she would not return to the public eye until after Easter.
However, Kate further announced in March that she was undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy as cancer cells had been discovered.
It was not until September that Kate confirmed she had finished her cancer treatment.
The few engagements which the royal has attended this year include Trooping the Colour, the Wimbledon final and meeting bereaved family members of the Southport stabbing victims.

The 42-year-old also joined Prince William to honour Remembrance Day last month.
Earlier this week, Kate and William took part in the Qatari State Visit to support the King and Queen.
She was supported this evening by the Prince of Wales, as well as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
