The Princess of Wales will miss the upcoming Trooping the Colour rehearsal
Princess Kate has received a message of support following a Kensington Palace update.
An Army colonel has sent a message to the Princess of Wales, following the announcement that she will miss the upcoming Trooping the Colour rehearsal.
He said the regiment is "so proud" to have the Princess of Wales as Colonel of the Irish Guards and sent his "best wishes" to Kate.
It comes after royal officials confirmed on Thursday the mother-of-three will not attend the Colonel's Review on June 8, the traditional rehearsal for Trooping the Colour, held on June 15.

Lieutenant Colonel James Shaw, Brigade Major of the Household Division, who designed this year's Trooping spectacle, told The Irish Sun: "We totally understand and our thoughts and best wishes are with Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales.
"We are even more determined to make the Colonel’s Review the best yet for her.
"We are so proud to have The Princess of Wales as the Colonel of the Irish Guards."
Kate, 42, who began cancer treatment earlier this year, would have been due to take the salute on June 8 in normal circumstances in her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards.
But she is continuing to recuperate in private during her chemotherapy, and will only return when doctors give her the all-clear.
Lieutenant General James Bucknall, former commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, will be the inspecting officer on Kate’s behalf for the Colonel’s Review.
Buckingham Palace revealed on Thursday that King Charles will travel in a carriage with Queen Camilla on June 15 and will not be on horseback.
GB News understands the attendance of other Royal Family members at Trooping the Colour events will be confirmed nearer the time of each one.
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
Earlier this year, Kate was hospitalised for 13 days at The London Clinic for "planned abdominal surgery".
Two months later, she revealed via a video message that she had begun a course of preventative chemotherapy.
Kate has since been resting at Adelaide Cottage with her husband Prince William and three children.
It is unknown when the Princess of Wales will return to royal duties.
