The Princess of Wales has been eager to keep her health matters private
Princess Kate could address her health at a public engagement according to a close friend, after extreme speculation and conspiracy theories about her operation.
Social media has been filled with wild theories ever since the Princess of Wales was first admitted to hospital for abdominal surgery.
The intense misinformed gossip has only grown in recent weeks as some royal fans become increasingly frustrated at the lack of new information.
The impatience comes despite Kensington Palace informing the public at the time of Kate's operation that she would not be carrying out any public duties until after Easter in order to rest.
A close friend has suggested that any update on the Princess' health is most likely to come from Her Royal Highness herself - and that she would most likely address her surgery at a public engagement.
“They [the Prince and Princess of Wales] are at their most open when out interacting with members of the public and I can see a world in which the princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements," a royal source told The Sunday Times.

"If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it."
A close friend who has known the couple since their university days added: "They will want to be clear and more open, but they’ll do it when they feel ready.
"I would expect that to be her instinct and it will be her call. They’re not going to be rushed."
Very few details have been shared about Kate since the Palace first confirmed she was to undergo surgery and would spend up to two weeks in hospital.

Prince William and Princess Kate made clear at the time of her surgery that few updates would be provided

Guidance at the time made clear that few updates would be provided and asked for the public to respect Kate and William's privacy.
A statement from the Palace said: "The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate.
"She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private."
It made clear that she was "unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter" due to the "current medical advice".
While the couple may be weighing up whether to talk about Kate's health publicly, another source told The Sunday Times that the choice was completely up to them - especially given that nothing has changed since the original guidance was issued from the Palace.
They said: "In Kate’s case, there is almost nobody else in the world whose face, body, clothes are more judged than hers.
"So it’s entirely right for them not to want to be drawn into a game about what is going on with her health.
"What is happening is exactly what they said would happen — she would spend two weeks in hospital and be back after Easter. So what if they haven’t pushed her out there to wave from the back of a car? She is not a show pony.”
