They said Kate "may disclose more information" at a later date, but for now is choosing to keep the health concern private.
The source added: "Kate will still be healing for several weeks but is already eager to get back to work."

On Monday, Kensington Palace provided an update on Kate's health in a statement.
They said: "The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.
