Princess Kate took responsibility for editing her Mother's Day photo, which was shared on their social media platforms on Sunday.
Six major photo agencies recalled the picture after claims were made that it had been digitally altered.
Kate, 42, then took to social media to explain what had happened.

She wrote: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
"I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
"I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
Royal fans have written to GB News expressing their support for the Princess of Wales following the backlash she has received online.
One wrote: "So Kate is sitting around recovering from her surgery and thinks what a nice thing it might be to post a family photo celebrating Mothering Sunday, a bit of cheer in less than happy times, and wants it to be the best it can be.
"Shame on anyone that sees this for anything less than a caring, thoughtful gesture.
"Sending lots of Healing, Love and Support to our lovely Catherine.
"Who cares about the photo, get well soon we all miss you. X."
