James Middleton has revealed that alongside his mother Carole, his two older sisters, Catherine and Pippa, were like "mothering figures" to him during his upbringing.
The 38-year-old, who was born in Reading, made the heartfelt admission whilst reflecting on his childhood.
"I jokingly say that I had three mothers growing up. I had my mother and my two sisters, who were mothering figures to me," James told Hello.
He described his childhood as "fantastic" and spoke warmly about his family bonds.

James shared that his parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, live "five minutes up the road" in the village of Bucklebury.
"Which is lovely, because we see lots of them," he explained.
The Middleton family maintains close connections despite their busy lives.
"We're a close family, and we're fortunate in that we see lots of each other. My parents play a good role in getting us all together in that respect," James shared.
He added thoughtfully: "We've been brought up knowing that you can't take family for granted. You don't get to choose them, as you can choose your friends."
James reflected on his position as the youngest sibling in the family.
"I wouldn't say I was indulged and there are pros and cons of being the youngest," he said.
He emphasised how his sisters included him in their activities throughout his life.

"We had a fantastic childhood, and they included me in everything they did, and still do," James revealed.
The bond has remained strong into adulthood.
"I'm now in my late 30s and we still have that friendship," he added, highlighting the enduring connection between the siblings.

"Wherever they go, they bring the dogs with them, so I see lots of them, which is lovely," James said.
He acknowledged that while his sisters are passionate about their dogs, "I'm on another scale of passionate."
