GB News host Bev Turner has defended Gary Goldsmith, claiming Princess Kate's uncle is "normalising" the royals.
On Celebrity Big Brother, Goldsmith introduced himself as the "uncle to the future queen of our country", and said his niece is "simply perfect".
He also revealed that the first time he met Prince William, the future King offered to make him a cup of tea whilst Kate cooked in the kitchen. He went on to describe the pair as "very normal."
Reacting to Goldsmith's introductory video that played out on the ITV reality show, GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker said: "I don't think that could be any further from the perception of the British Royal Family if you tried.
"The fact that he not only the uncle of the future Queen, but also the great uncle of the future King, Prince George, whether he wants to or not this is going to create some alarm bells and embarrass the Royal Family."
Bev responded: "You know what? I think that it is very humanising because Kate is not royal blood.

"I don't think that it is a problem for them at all and when he said the first time that he met William he asked him if he wants a cup of tea, I like that. They are normal even though they are different."

Detailing Goldsmith's relationship with the couple, Walker said: "Yes. Prince William and Katherine both stayed in his Ibiza villa in 2006, they have obviously met him a number of times.
"What is so telling is that in his interview with The Sun this morning he was praising them both and saying that Kate is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
"He was really having a go at Harry and Meghan, saying that Harry threw his niece under a bus and that it was absolute rubbish what was written in Endgame about the allegations that Kate is racist.
"It was quite a scathing attack on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

A source has claimed to the Sun that The Princess of Wales's mum Carole Middleton had "read [him] the riot act" after it was revealed that he was appearing on the show.
