Joanna Lumley slaps down critics of King Charles: 'He's not put a foot wrong!'

Dame Joanna Lumley has hailed the work Charles is doing as King and claimed the royal "has not put a foot wrong".
The British actress spoke to GB News about her thoughts on King Charles and Queen Camilla, both of whom are her personal friends.
She also praised Charles as the "best Prince of Wales this country has ever seen".
When asked about Charles's rating as King so far, Lumley claimed: “I think completely wonderful. I think he was the best Prince of Wales this country has ever seen.
“And if that's not training as an understudy to be a King, I can't think what is.”

In a discussion with GB News, Lumley added: "So I think he hasn’t, to use the old phrase, he hasn't put a foot wrong, and I'm so pleased that it's all going well for him.
“It's wonderful to see Queen Camilla by his side and just there's such joy and love where they go and they bring such concern for people.
“I think that's quite often overlooked, how caring they are for what we would call the ordinary man.”

The activist was also asked if she would be applying to the Garrick Club again following reports that it may admit women members for the first time.
Founded in 1831, the Garrick Club is a private members’ gentlemen's club based in the west end of London.
Lumley was denied membership when she applied to the club 12 years ago.
The actress joked to GB News: “My husband’s a member, he takes me when he goes.”

Queen Camilla is known to be a close friend of Lumley's.
She demonstrated this in June earlier this year when Camilla greeted Lumley and fellow actress Dame Judi Dench with a kiss on the cheek at the Queen’s Reading Room literary festival reception.
Lumley also attended the Coronation of King Charles III, which was an invitation-only event.
In addition, the Absolutely Fabulous star attended Charles and Camilla's wedding in 2005.
