Princess Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith's decision to appear on Celebrity Big Brother is "horrendous", according to PR expert and talent manager Jonathan Shalit.
The relative of the Princess of Wales made his bombshell appearance on ITV's reboot of the show on Monday night.
During his entrance video, Goldsmith sung the praises of his niece, claiming she is "simply perfect".
He also revealed that she is recovering in a "nice house somewhere" following her recent abdominal surgery.

According to a royal insider, the Middleton family are "not happy" about him signing up for the show.
Goldsmith's sister, Carole Middleton, is reportedly "infuriated" by the decision and held crunch talks with him before signing on to the show.
Discussing his Celebrity Big Brother debut, said the "bigger question" surrounding Goldsmith is "why he is doing it".
He also suggested that money may have been a motivation and he was most likely paid "very well" to appear on the show.

Shalit fumed: "The fact is his niece is the Princess of Wales. He should just keep out the limelight and keep his life private."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Shalit told GB News: "To be embarrassing his family in this way, it's horrendous. If we're honest, most of us have got an embarrassing member of our family, but we're not the future King or Queen, so it's a bit different."
Host Patrick Christys agreed, and argued that the broadcaster, ITV, should have given the decision "more consideration".
Patrick highlighted: "You have to look at the situation that's going on at the moment. The King is recovering from cancer. Camilla's knackered to the point where she's going to have to take a break. William is obviously bang up against it. Kate, I mean, goddess only knows exactly what's going on with Kate.
"And ITV think it's all right to plunk in the old uncle into the middle of that, who's probably going to go absolutely rogue at some point and maybe dish all the family secrets."
Shalit told Goldsmith to 'keep out of the spotlight'

Shalit argued that ITV "wouldn't have given it that level of thought" when choosing their lineup of contestants.
He said: "I don't think they're sitting there thinking, at the highest level, about the implications. The only implication they're thinking of is creating a cast that's of interest.
"The pressure that family is directly under as a private family, let alone as a Royal Family, is immense.
"So having the brother on national television, embarrassing the family the way he is, is a pretty horrific thing to do, to do to your own family."
