Carole Middleton hosted a private Easter with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as Prince William and Princess Kate broke tradition.

The Prince and Princess of Wales's three children spent Easter Sunday with Kate's parents rather than attending the traditional royal celebration.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were spotted in Norfolk, where the family stayed at their country home, Anmer Hall.

GB News had previously reported that Princess Kate might opt to spend the religious holiday with her mother, Carole, and her siblings, Pippa and James.

According to Hello!, the young royals enjoyed a "low-key family weekend of private festivities" with their maternal grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

The Wales children and their grandparents attended an Easter Sunday church service in Sandringham.

An eyewitness noted that "The vicar, Canon Paul Williams, was spotted handing the Royal Family wrapped hot cross buns on their way out."

Despite the family's presence at the local service, they managed to maintain their privacy. The royal children were not seen by royal fans who had gathered outside the church.

The publication reported that the family "left via the back entrance" of the church.

The family enjoyed a "low-key family weekend of private festivities" instead of joining the Royal Family at church in Windsor.

This private celebration came as other royals, including Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, attended the traditional royal Easter gathering.

Many royal enthusiasts had hoped to catch a glimpse of the Wales children during their Sandringham outing.

Unfortunately for well-wishers, a "large crowd" gathered outside the church but were "unable to catch sight of the Royal Family" due to their discreet departure.

A source told Us Weekly that the decision to skip the main Royal Family gathering in Windsor was "a big deal" in royal circles.

"It's royal tradition for the family to attend this together," the source claimed.

They added: "Everyone understood the family not attending last year when Kate was sick, but there's been a lot of raised eyebrows at the Palace about William's decision to skip again this year."

According to Marie Claire, Kate and William "decided to spend some time together as a family before conducting any official royal engagements."
