Camilla is set to honour Queen Elizabeth II in a touching tribute on the royal's 77th birthday, according to a jewellery expert.

King Charles's wife will celebrate her 77th birthday on July 17, 2024, which coincides with the State Opening of Parliament.

In May, it was announced that a General Election would be held on July 4, followed by the State Opening of Parliament and the King's Speech on July 17.

In line with tradition, the King, 75, and Queen, 76, will arrive at the House of Lords chamber within the Palace of Westminster on the first day of the new parliamentary session.

The last State Opening of Parliament was held in November 2023, where Camilla wore the Diamond Diadem tiara.

Tobias Kormind, the co-founder and MD of Europe's largest online diamond jeweller, 77 Diamonds, spoke exclusively to GB News to explain why she will likely wear the jewel again next month.

He said: "The Diamond Diadem tiara is in many people’s minds the jewel most closely associated with the late Queen.

"One of the most instantly recognisable tiaras of the British monarchy, it is most closely linked with the late Queen Elizabeth II, because she wore it on numerous occasions including en route to her Coronation in 1953, to most State Openings of Parliament and for photographs such as those used for coinage, banknotes and postage stamps - which explains why it's instantly recognisable."

Kormind, whose grandfather was the Royal Guard to King Frederik X of Denmark's grandfather, added: "Originally created for King George IV for his Coronation, it has been slightly altered and worn by subsequent Queens, Regnant and Consorts, from Queen Adelaide onwards.

"Set with 1,333 diamonds including a four-carat brilliant pale yellow in the centre, it is truly a glittering piece of England's history."

The State Opening of Parliament is a ceremonial event which formally marks the beginning of each session of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

Ahead of the ceremony, the King will travel from Buckingham Palace or another royal residence to Parliament.

Once he arrives at the House of Lords, the King will read a speech to MPs and peers, written by the government.

The Diamond Diadem, tipped to be worn by Queen Camilla, is worth an eye-watering £800,000, according to reports.

Queen Elizabeth II last wore the jewel at the State Opening of Parliament in 2019.

The Royal Collection Trust describe the piece as a "silver and gold-lined diadem with an openwork frame set transparent with diamonds".
