Prince Archie has not joined his parents at the Invictus Games in Canada

Prince Harry has revealed his five-year-old son Archie has been asking to see photos and videos of Princess Diana after conversations about landmines sparked his interest in his late grandmother.

The Duke of Sussex shared the touching insight during the 2025 Invictus Games, currently taking place in Vancouver, Canada.

The revelation came during a candid discussion at the sporting event, where Harry explained how a conversation about landmines with his son unexpectedly led to Archie's curiosity about "Grandma Diana".

"Archie was asking about landmines, so I was talking about these guys..." Prince Harry explained. "But then I found myself talking with him about mines at five years old, and interestingly it gave me a chance to talk about my mum."

The conversation took an unexpected turn, leading to Archie's growing curiosity about his grandmother.

"He then saw videos he wanted to see photos of his grandma Diana out doing her thing with landmines all those years ago," Harry shared.

"It produced a very interesting conversation between me and him, different from what I thought it was going to be."

Princess Diana worked closely with The HALO Trust, an organisation dedicated to clearing landmines and explosive devices left by conflicts, before her death in 1997.

She famously walked through an active minefield in Huambo, Angola, campaigning for an international ban on landmines.

Following in his mother's footsteps, Prince Harry returned to the same minefield 22 years later to continue raising awareness for the cause.

This is not the first time Prince Harry has spoken about sharing memories of Diana with his children.

In a 2022 interview with Today's Hoda Kotb, the Duke discussed how he introduces Diana to his children.
