Royal biographer Angela Levin slammed the Duke for not mentioning his fathers health during his speech

Royal biographer Angela Levin has labeled Prince Harry a "phony" for not paying tribute to his father's health during his acceptance speech for the Living Legend of Aviation award.

The Duke's appearance at the ceremony was his first in public since news broke of King Charles' enlarged prostate treatment.

The award, made at the recommendation of John Travolta, recognises Prince Harry's role as an Apache helicopter pilot in two tours of Afghanistan in 2007 and 2012.

Talking about the speech Harry made as he received the award Royal biographer Angela Levin said: "Harry was there yesterday evening to take the award and John Travolta was there to give it to him.

"And he said: 'Ah, do you remember when you danced with my mother? I was only one. And look as us now, I expect you still celebrate it every night that you danced with her.'

"Which is a bit of a ludicrous thing. What I thought was it was quite phony because he was trying to make joke after joke after joke and he didn't mention once about his father or his sister-in-law, who he said for years was a sister he'd always wanted.

"I felt he could have just said it's been a shock to hear that. I wish them well, but to ignore it and be super happy I felt was saying I'm completely independent. It doesn't affect me. I'm fine."

"I think when you've got two people in your family who are unwell and it's quite a shock. A sentence wouldn't have hurt."

During an announcement on the award a few weeks ago, Living Legends of Aviation said: “Prince Harry is a humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate and environmentalist.

“He has dedicated his life to advancing causes that he is passionate about and that bring about permanent change for people and places.”

Also discussing the King's health issue Levine said:" I think he was extraordinary to say exactly what he had.

"And it was to get people, if they were concerned about the symptoms, to go and see a doctor.

"Queen Camilla said that he's fine and he's itching to get back to work, So he can't feel that well at the moment because he's a man who works every single day except Christmas Day."

"It's a real possibility it is anxiety and being extra careful. And then he'll come back full of beans and everything.

"It's actually very proud. I think it's marvelous of him to do that."
