"The Bible tells us that after the resurrection he appears to most of his disciples. But Thomas, one of them, is absent. When Thomas hears about this, hears about his appearance, he refused to believe.
"He boldly says, unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were and put my hands into his side, I will not believe. In the first century, a god or a king or an emperor won't listen to such demand. But Jesus is not like that.
"He graciously appears, Thomas, and lets him do exactly what he's asked. Jesus says to him, put your finger here. See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
