In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we look at how every person who has returned to Jesus Christ, the great Shepherd and overseer of our souls, was once a rebel at heart.
"A sheep called Rebel wanted to be the master of his own destiny. Rebel was strong and swift, but possessed a restless heart. Every day Rebel followed the shepherd to green pastures and still waters, but found this to be too restrictive.
"Over time, Rebel began to see the shepherd and his staff not as a tool of protection and loving correction, but a barrier to freedom.
"Rebel dreamt of a life of independence, doing what he wanted and going where he wanted to go. One day, Rebel ran off into the wilderness. At first, freedom felt like freedom. Independence from the shepherd felt like Liberation Day.
"But when the sun began to set, rebel began to feel insecure and afraid. Rebel had no sense of direction and soon realised he was not just alone, but lost. Rebel realised he traded the shepherd's care for freedom that didn't really exist, and without a shepherd overseeing his life, he became easy prey in the wild.
"Every person who has returned to Jesus Christ, the great Shepherd and overseer of our souls, was once, like rebel, a rebel at heart. But the great Shepherd found them and brought them home to the safety and protection of the shepherd's care."
