In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we remember that the ability of the Holy Spirit in our lives includes fortitude or strength, which is a quiet, steady courage.
"It's the strength to continue in what is good, even when it's difficult. Not loud, dramatic, but firm and faithful.
"Fortitude is often most visible in challenging times when the right path is not the easiest one. C.S. Lewis once said, courage is not simply one of virtue, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.
"This gift enables perseverance even when the way forward feels uncertain. The promise of something eternal gives perspective of the present moment. Fortitude does not remove difficulty, but it strengthens the heart rate in it. It brings the confidence that obstacles do not have the final say, and that faith and goodness is always worth holding on to to the end.
"So let us pray. Spirit of strength. Grant us courage in difficulty. Steadfastness that is good. Help us to persevere with hope and to walk forward with confidence and peace, knowing that we have an eternal stronghold with you. Amen and amen."
