Honeytrap sext trap MP William Wragg “is feeling very remorseful”, according to his colleague Andrew Rosindell MP.
He told GB News: “We all have to behave in a way which is above reproach, but we all make mistakes. We've all made mistakes over the years.
“But I do think that there's a level of behaviour which is unacceptable, and I know that Will is feeling very remorseful about what's happened.
“It should never have happened, and I just hope that we can learn a lesson from this.”
Speaking to Nana Akua, he added: “Obviously, Will's going to regret what happened and it's a tragic situation…generally speaking today, being an MP is a very risky business.
“Everybody wants to drag you down. You can be accused of things, you can be attacked physically. You can be dragged into things that are not of your making, people can say anything about you to particular social media.
“It is actually quite a dangerous job being an MP.”
He added: “Too often these days in society, people don't take responsibility for their actions. One of the reasons I'm a Conservative is that I believe in freedom with responsibility.
“If you do things and you make mistakes, you make recompense for it, you sort out the mess that you've created.”
