The former Secretary of State Victoria Atkins has responded to Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting after they have have warned that the NHS needs to be reformed.

She claimed that Labour is "not serious about reforming NHS".

Speaking to GB News this morning she said: "It's not just how much is spent, it's how it is spent. I wanted to reform the NHS.

"I put this productivity reform forward, which was created with the NHS and was going to save tens of millions of clinicians hours by the end of the decade.

"Improve productivity, make sure that the doctors looking at the patient more than at their computer screens.

"Yet Labour apparently is going to cancel those plans. That doesn't sound to me like a government that is serious about raising productivity and improving outcomes in our NHS."
