UK committed to getting Ukraine in 'strongest possible position', says minister

The UK is committed to getting Ukraine into the “strongest possible position”, according to Housing Minister Alex Norris.

He told GB News: “Viewers will know that we've made a significant commitment in aid to Ukraine ourselves, with regards to access to UK export finance so that they've got the missiles they need for air defence.

“Similarly, the ability to borrow against seized Russian assets, the £3billion a year we're committing in aid, so, we're making that commitment.

“We're also a significant part of diplomatic efforts, as we've seen in recent days across the Atlantic and here at home in Europe, in service of a single goal, which is to get Ukrainians the strongest position possible, because that's what will get us to a lasting peace.

“You know, there will be change, trials, and there will be moments and ebbs and flows in that process. We won't provide a daily commentary, I have to say early on that.

“But we are honest brokers in that process, and we're committed to getting Ukraine into that situation.”
