Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves sat down for an exclusive interview with GB News political editor Christopher Hope and defended her decision to make Winter Fuel Payments means-tested

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves has defended her decision to make Winter Fuel Payments means-tested as she sat down for an exclusive interview with Rachel Reeves.

Speaking to Political Editor Christopher Hope, Reeves explained: "This government faced a £22 billion black hole in finances, but we were determined to protect the poorest pensioners. That is why the Pension Credit and the Winter Fuel Payment will continue to be paid to those who most need the support.

"In addition to that, we committed to the triple lock in our manifesto, not just for one year but for the duration of this Parliament. And a triple lot means that this winter the new state pension is worth £900 more than it was a year ago."
