NFU President Tom Bradshaw has told GB News that the community's meeting with the Labour Government concluded that they are "not willing to look at alternatives" to their inheritance tax raid on farmers.

Speaking to GB News reporter Adam Cherry, Bradshaw explained: "When somebody opens a meeting saying, 'I'm meeting with you because you asked' rather than having a purpose or anything they want to discuss with you, it's very difficult to believe that meeting is genuine and that there's going to be any solutions coming out of it.

"As we went further and further through the meeting, it was very clear that the Government believed they are correct. They are not willing to look at any other alternatives.

"We have actually provided them with a solution which would still raise the revenue, but would reduce the impact on those family businesses that don't have the cash to pay it. And yet they say they're not interested."
