Kemi Badenoch backs drilling for new oil and gas: 'We cannot be reliant on dangerous countries'

Kemi Badenoch has claimed that she would drill for new oil and gas if she was elected Conservative Party leader.

Speaking to GB News, Badenoch stated: "Yes to drilling for new oil and gas. We cannot be reliant on dangerous countries for all of our oil and gas.

"And a lot of what's happening is that we're closing down our plants, making electricity and energy more expensive here and enriching other countries.

"So oil and gas is a part of the transition if you want to get to net zero."
