Errol Musk, the father to Elon, has claimed that the "woke left don't understand the direction for America."
The comments come after Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris in the US election to become the new President elect.
Speaking to GB News, Musk said: "Trump's a businessman and we are business people. Business people are the people that make the world run. We see things going well, we don't do anything. We see things going wrong.
"We start to realise we have to get involved in what ultimately is a very boring line of work, and that's politics. At times it's very difficult to explain to the left, or woke left, because they don't seem to have the capacity to understand.
"But we see that America is going to need to go in a new direction. And of course, this is only the beginning. This is not the end. Election of Trump is not suddenly the end of the story. No, no, this is only the beginning of the story."
