GB News US Correspondent Steven Edginton has claimed that Donald Trump "clearly won" the leadership debate against Joe Biden, as the two prospective leaders went head to head in a live CNN showdown.
Following the broadcast, CNN conducted a poll where 67 per cent of viewers believed that Trump won the debate.
Trading blows in the heated exchange, Trump claimed that Biden has "beat Medicare to death", and Biden told Trump he had the "morals of an alley cat".
Analysing the debate on GB News, Steven said that given the reaction of voters, Trump was "very much winning".

Steven told GB News: "We were at a watch party and even Biden voters were saying Trump did very well here.
"Biden came across as old - he stumbled on his words constantly, and Trump really took advantage of that."
Warning the Democrats of how the debate will impact votes in November, Steven claimed that the party is now in "chaos" as Trump appears to have done "very well" among audiences.
He added: "I think the reaction here in the US has been very much that Trump has done very well out of tonight, and the Democrats are in chaos."

Praising Trump for his approach to the debate, Steven highlighted that the former leader is a "different man" than he was in 2020.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Steven told GB News: "We also saw a different Trump to what we saw in 2020. He didn't interrupt Biden once in the whole debate.
"Biden was actually the one trying to interrupt Trump at various points. He obviously couldn't because of the CNN rules where they turned off their mics when the other candidate tried to interrupt."
He also revealed: "Many of the more liberal media organisations here in the US are describing absolutely terrible scenes in the Democratic Party.
"They're even considering maybe replacing Biden following this terrible performance in this debate."

When asked how the outcome of the debate could "shift the dial" in support of both the Democrats and the Republicans, Steven said that particularly for the Democrats, it could spell danger for Biden.
Steven concluded: "I think this debate could shift the dial amongst the Democrats, who as they're considering whether to choose him as their candidate ahead of November, they'll be looking at this performance and I think many of them will be thinking, he just is too old to be president.
"I think there was a whole minute and a half of him basically spouting pretty much gibberish, and I think people will look at that and say, how can this man be president of the United States for another four years?"
