The vice president is hoping to become the 47th president of America

Kamala Harris relying on the female vote as a result of her stance on abortion is “insulting”, according to Jennifer Ewing.

Speaking on GB News, the Republican Overseas spokeswoman told Stephen Dixon and Ellie Costello that there are many more critical issues for women in America.

The vice president is hoping to become the 47th president of America and will look to young women in states like Arizona and Michigan as potential decisive factors.

The 2024 presidential election is the first since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, which protected the national right to an abortion.

“I find it a little insulting that people assume women’s only issue is abortion”, Ewing said on GB News.

“We know for the first time from the GOP (Grand Old Party) platform that they don’t want a national ban on abortion.

“The messaging on the Republican side has not been great on that. There’s other issues for women too, fairness in women’s sport, safe spaces for women and of course, women buy groceries, another thing towards the economy.”

The gender divide has been prominent in this election, with polls suggesting Harris has an edge among women.

Trump appears to be enjoying a similar lead among men.

It comes amid a fraught campaign for both candidates with Trump the subject of two assassination attempts and Harris only being drafted in with months to spare.

Speaking to GB News earlier, long-term Trump ally and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said the GOP are confident of victory.

“Team Trump feels very confident. Perhaps more confident than they were in 2016”, Nigel said on GB News.

“There is definitely a sign out there that the turnout in the urban, rural type areas is big.

“That is where Trump draws most of his strength. Some of the indications show that not as many turned out in the big cities like Philadelphia, for example.

“I think Team Trump are very confident.”
