US President Donald Trump has issued a chilling World War Three warning after admitting Vladimir Putin had an “advantage” - just hours before the Russian leader launched an fresh set of attacks on Ukraine.
Speaking on Fox News, the 47th US President claimed the US “could be” involved in the Russia-Ukraine war if tensions escalated to “World War Three”.
Giving his interview after a two-hour-long phone call with Putin, Trump said: “Right now, you have a lot of guns pointing at each other and a cease-fire without going a little bit further would have been tough.
“Russia has the advantage, as you know they have encircled about 2,500 [Ukrainian] soldiers. They're nicely encircled and that’s not good.”

Trump's comments came as Putin rejected the US proposal of a full, unconditional ceasefire with Ukraine.
Despite the Russian despot instead agreeing to halt strikes on “energy and infrastructure”, the ex-Soviet state last night faced a fresh bombing blitz.
Trump argued that his push for a broader peace agreement would likely keep the US out of the conflict, adding: “Look, we’re doing this – there are no Americans involved. There could be if you end up in World War Three over this, which is so ridiculous.”
According to Trump, his call with Putin lasted around two hours, during which they discussed moving towards peace and “other things also”.
However, just hours after the call, the Russian leader broke his promise, launching a massive attack on Ukraine targeting infrastructure and hospitals.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky claimed Russia had launched over 40 drones following the call with Trump, and the Ukrainian military said its air defence units shot down 72 of 145 drones.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin claimed its forces destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones overnight.
A Ukrainian drone attack reportedly ignited a small fire at an oil depot located near the village of Kavkazskaya, although no one was injured, authorities said.

Zelensky had agreed to the proposed 30-day ceasefire, however, after the Russian attack, he urged the world to block any attempts by Moscow to “drag out the war”.
Writing on Telegram, the Ukrainian President said: “Today, Putin de facto rejected the proposal for a complete ceasefire.”
“It would be right for the world to reject in response any attempts by Putin to drag out the war.”
Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, added: “Russia is attacking civilian infrastructure and people - right now.”
