Nancy Pelosi rushed to hospital after 'falling down stairs' in front of horrified dignitaries

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has “fallen down the stairs” during an “official engagement” in front of horrified dignitaries.
The 84-year-old has been taken to hospital in Luxembourg and has been forced to cancel the remainder of her appointments on the trip.
She had been travelling with the congressional delegation for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge – the last major German offensive during WWII.
Ian Krager, a spokesman for the former Speaker of the House, said: "Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation."

Pelosi was injured due to a fall on the stairs, three sources told CNN.
Her office declined to comment on how the congresswoman was injured.
She is "currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals. She continues to work".
He said she "regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of our servicemembers during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history," adding that Pelosi "looks forward to returning home to the US soon".

McCaul wrote online that he's "confident" that Pelosi will "be back on her feet in no time".
"I’m disappointed Speaker Emerita Pelosi won’t be able to join the rest of our delegation’s events this weekend as I know how much she looked forward to honoring our veterans," he added
"But she is strong, and I am confident she will be back on her feet in no time. Praying for a speedy recovery."

REUTERSAlso on the trip was Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Wis., who said he was near her "when she fell during an official event".
"It's not appropriate for me to comment on her medical condition, and I wish her the very best," he wrote online.
Pelosi has been a member of Congress for 37 years. She has served as House speaker twice – from 2007 until 2011 and then again from 2019 until 2023.
She was re-elected in November to another two-year term beginning on January 3.
