The whereabouts of Melania Trump are a “mystery” to her neighbours, who claim that “nobody knows where she is”.
According to the author of a book about Donald Trump’s base in Mar-a-Lago, the former first lady is rarely seen outside the confines of the estate.
Laurence Leamer, author of Mar-a-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump's Presidential Palace, said: “Nobody knows where she is. It’s like a mystery. It’s certainly talked about.”
Leamer, who is also a long-time Palm Beach resident, said that Melania’s whereabouts have become the subject of speculation between her neighbours.

Before she became first lady, Melania was frequently sighted by Mar-a-Lago members, however, according to Leamer, that is no longer the case.
“She rarely exits Mar-a-Lago. It’s a strange, isolated life they have in that place,” he said to The Telegraph.
Leamer, who was banned permanently from the private members club, said he still has friends who visit the resort.
His friends have allegedly noticed the absence of the former first lady, despite the Trump family’s living quarters being “right off the main hall”.

Melania featured heavily in Trump's 2016 campaign

She has not been spotted on her husband’s 2024 campaign trail, despite being a prominent fixture in 2016.
Melania has also not appeared at his various court appearances, including those related to his civil fraud trial in New York.
However, she did choose to appear as a guest speaker for a naturalisation ceremony in Washington DC earlier this month, which many have found a peculiar choice.

She spoke about her challenges in becoming a US citizen.
The ceremony was at the National Archives, the US agency that her husband has been accused of withholding documents from.
Adding to the irony, Melania spoke of the significance of America’s “democratic process” without reference to her husband’s trial.
Earlier this year, posters featuring Melania captioned “missing” were circulated in Iowa.
