Nancy Pelosi discussed Joe Biden’s running mate
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admitted that Kamala Harris "doesn't do that much" as she refused to say if the Vice President was the best running mate for Joe Biden.
Harris was specifically brought in to handle the growing migrant crisis on the US-Mexico border in March 2021.
Last Friday, Pelosi announced she is seeking reelection next November.
When asked if Harris was the right fit for the job, she said: “He [Biden] thinks so. And that’s what matters.”

ReutersPelosi added that Harris is “politically astute” and she doesn’t get the credit she deserves.
“Why would she be vice president if she were not?” she told CNN.
But when pressed for a response on whether she believed Harris was the best running mate, the former House Speaker suggested the vice president doesn’t do all that much, but is an “intellectual resource.”
She said: “She’s the Vice President of the United States. And when people say to me, ‘well, why isn’t she doing this or that?’ I say, ‘Because she’s the vice president. That’s the job description. You don’t do that much'."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Illegal crossings on the US-Mexico have broken records numerous times during the Biden administration.
Pelosi added: “You know, you, you know, you’re a source of strength, inspiration, intellectual resource, and the rest. And you, and she, I think she’s represented our country very well at home and abroad.”
However, she did also praise Harris: "You know, you're a source of strength, inspiration, intellectual resource and the rest and I think she's represented our country very well at home and abroad."
Since taking on the role with Biden's office, Harris has been chief of leading diplomatic talks to tackle “root causes” such as poverty, violence, corruption and climate change.

Pelosi was also pressed about whether Biden's career will continue until 2024 and beyond.
When asked if she thought "there's any chance (Biden) does not continue running," she said: "I hope not, I hope not."
It comes as Biden faces concerns over his cognitive abilities - with more of the criticism coming from his own party.
