Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been accused of "turning their backs on Israel" just days after Iran told it to expect a "definitive and painful" retaliation to its October 26 air strikes.
Republican ex-Arizona Congressman Trent Franks, who served in the US House of Representatives for almost 15 years, was probed by GB News on recent comments made to CNN by a high-ranking source.
The source, whom the outlet described as being "familiar with Iran's deliberations", told the broadcaster that Iran's retaliation would come before the American presidential election on November 5.
"The response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the aggression of the Zionist regime will be definitive and painful," they said.
"Israel is our most vital ally in America. And unfortunately, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have essentially turned their back on Israel," Franks said

Reacting to the comments, Franks told The People's Channel: "That could happen - but let me suggest to you that's a mistake on Iran's part.
"Israel is our most vital ally in America. And unfortunately, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have essentially turned their back on Israel."
The former US lawmaker said the Democrats' top brass only continued to help the Jewish state because "they know the American people are dramatically in favour of Israel".
He said it was a "tragedy" that Earth has "stood by and let the tiny nation of Israel stave off the evil of terrorism in the world - and, potentially, a nuclear Iran".

Franks has called for the "outright destruction" of Iran-backed groups Hamas and Hezbollah

"If Israel is the one that destroys Hamas and Hezbollah, and we've stood by and let them do that... I'm glad they're doing that.
"They have to, because it's a matter of survival for their country. It's a tragedy that the rest of the world has stood by and let this little nation carry the water to fight the evil of terrorism in the whole world.
"Hamas and Hezbollah should be destroyed outright. And you're talking to a Sunday school teacher!"
Biden and Harris appear to have been losing ground to the Muslim-American community on Israel - with Donald Trump successfully courting them instead.
Franks has hailed Trump's shrewd political manoeuvring - he said: "I think the Muslim world understands that Trump has a clear commitment to Israel, a clear commitment to freedom, and a clear commitment to fighting terrorism, whatever it takes.
"Many Muslims in this world are committed to some type of peaceful coexistence.
"And I think they believe that Trump has the cognitive understanding of how to deal with these things in a way that Harris does not have.
"That's part of their support for him. I don't think it's because they believe he's going to somehow support Hamas and Hezbollah, they know better than that... They understand that he has a much greater command on reality than our friends on the Left."
Franks has hailed both Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu

However, it's not just Donald Trump whom Franks holds in high regard.
"I know Benjamin Netanyahu quite well, and I think he's one of the greatest leaders in the world," he said. "Let me be very clear about that."
"I think he has been a stunningly capable leader and, uh, that the whole world will someday look back and thank God that he was once Prime Minister of Israel.
"I think it's stunning that the International Court of Justice would somehow put out an arrest warrant, and that somehow Germany would entertain that as valid.
"It's stunning to me... Hamas and Hezbollah are the reason for the desecration of the innocent in the Middle East. They are the ones that are causing the problem. And Israel is doing everything it can to eradicate that problem.
"The world should stand by that. And Benjamin Netanyahu has given extraordinary leadership in that regard - and I wish him the best God can give."
