Kevin O'Connor broke protocol yesterday by releasing a letter explaining why Dr Kevin Cannard visited the White House on eight occasions
Joe Biden's personal physician has been forced to explain a visit from a Parkinson's specialist in the latest update regarding the President's health.
Dr Kevin O'Connor, the Potus's doctor, broke protocol yesterday when he released a letter explaining why Dr Kevin Cannard visited the White House on eight occasions within the space of eight months.
Dr Cannard has been a movement disorder specialist at the Water Reed Medical Center in Maryland for nearly 20 years.
Dr O'Connor released a letter yesterday which stated that Dr Cannard had been the neurologist who evaluated Biden at each of his three physicals since he took office in January 2021.
In the letter, Dr O'Connor said that Dr Cannard's visits to the President's home were related to his role as a specialist attached to the White House Medical Unit, treating patients for a wide array of issues over a period of 12 years.
Dr Cannard made similar trips to the White House during both Obama's and Trump's presidencies.
The letter stated: "Prior to the pandemic, and following its end, has held regular Neurology Clinics at the White House Medical Clinic in support of the thousands of active-duty members assigned in support of White House operations.
"Many military personnel experience neurological issues related to their service, and Dr Canard regularly visits the WHMU as part of this General Neurology practice, which may explain some of the visits."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The letter added: "President Biden has not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physical."
Biden had his yearly physical in February, with Dr O'Connor saying that he didn't detect any signs of neurological disorder.
This comes as Biden has been hit with multiple calls to drop out of the presidential race, due to worries regarding his age and health.
Speaking to ABC, Biden stated that he "has a cognitive test every single day" with "everything I do".

Discussing the President on GB News, commentator Freddy Gray accused the Democrats of "covering for him" in a bid to hold on to power ahead of the August convention and November election.
Gray explained: "If he has a major slip up at this at this Nato summit, I think the calls for him to go will become overwhelming.
"That said, if he's not willing to go, how do you get rid of him?"
