Moms for Liberty Yolo County Chair Beth Bourne believes many lifelong Democrat voters are turning their backs on Joe Biden’s party.

Speaking on GBN America, she said the US President’s stance on gender issues is disenfranchising a significant portion of the party’s core vote.

Moms for Liberty, a political organisation that campaigns against school curriculums mentioning LGBT rights and critical race theory, is launching an ad blitz in key swing states ahead of this year’s US election.

Bourne told Mark Dolan it’s an important step in the group’s political efforts.

“I know many fellow lifelong Democrats like myself know our party aren’t respecting women”, she said.

“They aren’t safeguarding children, so we will see a lot of states go red.

“We need to go back to reality so I think it’s fantastic that Moms for Liberty are doing this big campaign.

“It’s going to make a big difference.”

According to Associated Press, the group plans to spend more than $3 million on a multi-state advertising blitz in a bid to increase its membership and engage voters.

They have been critical of Joe Biden’s pro-trans policies.

The US President made clear his stance on the matter in March when he declared Transgender Day of Visibility would be recognised on Easter Sunday.

He said the day was to “honour the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our nation's commitment to forming a more perfect union”.

Biden urged Americans “to join us in lifting the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity”.

The day celebrates the transgender community and has fallen on 31 March annually since 2009.

Critics of the President hit out at his decision to declare it on the same day as Easter Sunday, a holy day for Christians which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus.

Donald Trump’s campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt demanded an apology from the Biden administration.

She claimed the move was part of a “years-long assault on the Christian faith”.
